The Henry Ford to Host Author Talk with Historian Larry Lankton

(Dearborn, Mich. — August 12, 2026) — The Henry Ford will welcome Larry Lankton, Ph.D., historian and author, to talk about his latest book, Motor City Boomer: The Car Culture That Defined a Generation, on Sunday, August 30, at 2:00 p.m. at the Anderson Theater as part of the institution's free THF Author Talks series.

Lankton will be joined by Matt Anderson, curator of transportation at The Henry Ford, and the two gentlemen will talk about how the automobile influenced and defined postwar America. The presentation will focus on how cars changed not only the way Americans traveled, but also where they lived, and the culture and communities they created, inviting audiences to reflect on its enduring generational impact.

This Author Talk will be followed by a brief Q&A and book signing, during which guests can purchase a copy of Motor City Boomer.
